US Citizenship is required for this role. In addition, the selected applicant must submit to a government background investigation and be favorably adjudicated before their first day.
This hybrid position will require periodic client-site work. Applicants must reside within a commutable distance of Washington, D.C.
The Project Manager is responsible for project delivery, including schedule, client, and budget management. The requirements of the position include ensuring project schedules are met, coordinating with project personnel, and communicating project goals unilaterally to team members.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Reviews priorities with clients and manages overall project activities to meet milestones.
- Owns the project schedule by coordinating inputs for team activities and managing external dependencies.
- Develops and executes plans for management of project scope, resources, communications, risks, schedules, quality, and stakeholders.
- Serves as the primary escalation point for all external stakeholders and internal team members.
- Provides ongoing reports and metrics to the program manager and government stakeholders.
REQUIRED EXPERIENCE & SKILLS:
- At least 7 years of experience overall with at least 5 years of experience in project management
- Experience working with MS Project, Jira, Confluence, and Microsoft SharePoint to manage day-to-day activities of a development project team
- Broad experience in managing diverse projects ranging from IT to business operations projects
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Independent problem-solving skills, strong analytical abilities, creativity and a “helping others helps us all” personality
- Excellent time management and ability to juggle multiple tasks under strict deadlines
- Strong analytical skills; ability to develop and apply solutions to broad, complex problems
- Ability to talk with clients about technology solutions with the understanding that clients are not themselves technologists, with the political savvy to know how to phrase issues to reassure rather than overwhelm clients
- Experience in reporting to and building rapport with program & project team members, stakeholders, and high level government executives
- Project Management Professional (PMP) and Certified Scrum Master (CSM) certification
- Experience working in a federal government environment
PREFERRED EXPERIENCE & SKILLS:
- Knowledge of how to apply Agile principles to project management
EDUCATION:
- Bachelor’s Degree (Computer Science, Mathematics, Engineering, Information Technology, or related preferred)
