US Citizenship is required for this role. In addition, the selected applicant must submit to a government background investigation and be favorably adjudicated before their first day.

This position is primarily remote but will require occasional in-person meetings. The selected applicant must live within commuting distance of Washington, D.C.

The Operations Manager assists the Program Manager and Deputy Program Manager in daily operations, focusing on IT service delivery excellence and compliance with established project milestones. 

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Participates in the management of all project phases, from initiation through closure, ensuring adherence to budget and schedule
  • Supports risk management initiatives, assesses project deliverables for quality, and facilitates communication between project teams and stakeholders
  • Engages in strategic planning sessions, assists in the development of business cases, and helps manage transitions and implementations across various project stages
  • Provide technical expertise in the design and development of IT operation environments
  • Research new technology and advise the project management team and client regarding processing, data storage, data access, and applications development. 
  • Assist in the management of IT systems performance.
  • Provide additional IT project management support to ensure IT tasks and projects are appropriately assigned and prioritized based on program and customer priority
  • Assist in planning of projects that enhance the quality and efficiency
  • Provide additional leadership/management to project team members
  • Work collaboratively with project management and project team members to ensure the resolution of any IT issues and/or challenges
  • Assist in the management of TCG personnel and subcontractors.

REQUIRED SKILLS & EXPERIENCE:

  • Ten (10) plus years of project management experience
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) certification
  • Agile certification (CSM, ACP, SCM, ICAgile, CSPO)
  • At least five (5) years experience specifically overseeing Agile software development projects
  • Experience in personnel management and mentoring team members
  • Broad knowledge of the IT field with proven track record in managing mid or large-scale programs
  • Independent problem-solving skills, strong analytical abilities, creativity and a “helping others helps us all” personality
  • Excellent time management and ability to juggle multiple tasks under strict deadlines
  • Strong analytical and systems thinking skill set; ability to apply technical solutions to broad, complex problems
  • Ability to engage clients and speak about technology with the understanding that clients are not themselves technologists — with the political savvy to know how to frame and communicate issues

PREFERRED SKILLS & EXPERIENCE:

  • Work experience in the government contracting arena

EDUCATION:

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred, preferably in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field required.
