Charles Havekost, HHS CIO, was a speaker at an IAC-sponsored lunch yesterday, which I attended, and he spoke a little about a HHS system that services multiple agencies for their ata-collection approval process. This isn’t the only example of such a multi-agency system at HHS: Interagency Edison, hosted at NIH, serves 23 federal agencies’ inventions and patent reporting needs. (Full disclosure: TCG designed and built iEdison. Read more about our involvement here.) HHS does a great job of looking for and pioneering efficiencies across government, and Havekost placed great emphasis on the continuance of that trend at yesterday’s lunch. What other examples are there of multi-agency projects, outside of the 24 E‑Gov initiatives?
